First step to recovery is admittance

Today started out like normal.  I wake up, get online and proceed to plan with Kelsey when I'm going to head over to her house for the day.  Haha.  On my way to base I notice that the clouds look really cool.  It looks like they've been painted across half the sky; a brush stroke here a brush swipe there.....and the infamous "buttermilk clouds" rolling in.  Here's a picture of some buttermilk clouds over the Colorado River to help explain what they are.

By the time I left, the sky was completely covered in clouds, the temperature had gotten colder and the wind had picked up some.  Every time the weather does this it reminds me of Home Alone when Kevin is getting ready to the robbers setting up all the traps and the wind eerily blows the Santa wreath around on the door and then the next morning he wakes up to everything blanketed in snow.  Unfortunately we don't have any snow coming.  2 counties above us they have a Winter Weather Advisory, but down here in Columbus, nothing but cloudy skies and mid 40 temps.  Don't get me wrong though, I'll take cloudy days any day!  I shall enjoy my cloudy day by hopefully getting our Christmas cards, do a little last minute shopping for Chase and getting some homework done.

Fast forward to after dinner.  Chase passed his test and did really well on his SIM this morning so he decided to take the night off.  (As i type this, he's "taking the night off" by studying in front of the tv instead of isolated in the office).  I like these nights, even though he's "studying" he's in the same room with me, I can talk to him at any time without feeling like I'm interrupting and we can watch our shows together.  These nights are few and extremely far between during UPT.  Well Charlie got into a playing kick where he was biting on the presents, swiping at our hands and feet and running around.  So we decided to take a little bit to play with him and by playing with him I mean that we try to get him to run to either end of the apartment as many times as possible.  Charlie HATES when people (or toys) hide from him.  Well picture this in your head:  Chase crouched down behind our bedroom wall, me crouched down behind the kitchen wall and Charlie in between waiting for one of his toys to go flying down the hallway in between both of us.

Yes, I understand that we are probably considered abnormal for doing this.  We really do treat Charlie like he is our child (with the exception of dressing him up).  I love my kitty cat.  He's got such an amazing personality (for an animal).  He thinks he's a dog, he does things even when he knows he's not supposed to (trust me, he knows), he talks to us and he can say "mama"  I swear!  Ask Chase if you don't believe me.  Yes, most people think we are slightly crazy, we understand this and we're ok with it.  Haha.  I foresee this only making things harder when we actually have a child and Charlie has to move to the background.  Here's my handsome boy doing what he does best.
